York County Inmate Search & Jail Records
York County Inmate Search and Jail records document an individual's arrest and custody within the local correctional system. These records are usually generated during the arrest and booking process, rather than at the end of the case. Jail staff collect identifying information during the booking process, including names, physical descriptions, charges, arrest date/time, note the arresting agency, assign booking numbers, and take fingerprints plus mugshot photos. They also set bond/bail information and assign jail housing. As a result of these records being generated at that time, court records are not proof of guilt and often appear before a verdict in the case.
In York County, the local jail is operated by the Corrections Division of the York County Sheriff's Office. Inmate searches and arrest records can be requested by contacting the sheriff's office or county jail at (207)324-1113.
